Made of aluminum-oxide grain, these stones feature a medium hardness suitable for most tool and stainless steels. Special stones are considered the best general purpose stones. Special stones are fast cutting and non-loading, and are excellant for hand finishing and bringing out an awesome hamon. They are also used for mold and die making.
