3M Diamond Microfinishing Film Belt 675L
Micron-graded diamond on a polyester film backing for close-tolerance finishes on hard metals and coatings. Use dry, or wet with water or oil-based lubricant. Best results when used wet.
3M 675L anchors micron-graded diamond to a water-resistant polyester film. The film backing lets you run the belt dry or with water or oil-based lubricant, which helps clear swarf, keep the cut cooler, and extend belt life.
This belt is commonly used on thermal spray coatings, ceramics, carbides, chilled iron, granite, and other hard or exotic materials. It is especially useful when you need a controlled finish on contoured or irregular parts.
When choosing grit, match the micron grade to the RA (roughness average) you need and the material you’re finishing. Using the wrong grade is the most common reason a microfinish comes out too coarse or takes to long to achieve desired finish.
