Broke within the first week of using it, so why the 4 stars? Because after owning 4 power strops in 7 years, It's common and I just keep repairing them until I get annoyed with the belt size difference being too small and order a new one. They do something like a 1/2" tapered overlap which works for a while. Then when the leather rips, I do closer to a tapered 1.5" overlap using super glue as the binder and cut out the most stretched side to shorten the belt back to a standard 2by72 size. I also have a carbide back platen which has sharpish corners that leads to breakage. I usually mark the belt with sharpie using arrows on the backside so I know the belt joint is orientated right to not catch that lip as easily. After my home repair, the belts usually last a year or so before I do it again. But that's usually after about 500 hours of runtime.
